I am faced with the horrid position of picking only one of the above .. I did consider the porker 911 turbo route but the flat cap will have to wait another day biggrin

True but he can only dream of getting his rather oversized rear into one

If you want something that's pretty common get a Sag, if you want something a little more exclusive get a Tuscan 2 and even more exclusive a Tuscan 2S Convertible. biggrin

I'd get the Tuscan - purely for the ability to remove the roof. Depends what the car's used for, I suppose.

If the prices are similar get the Sag. I love the looks and brilliant silver is the best colour for Sag or 350. Not that I'm biased of course.

Unfortunately only the one on my profile at present which isn't the best shot in the world.

Hi Tobbin, If you want to look cool, go for the tuscan convert, if you want to look like you crashed in to halfords go for the saggy, hehe

I sold my Sagaris for one of the last Tuscan 2 targas. I could have had a Tuscan Vert but I don't see the point. The targas look better with the roof on, which happens to be a hard top, it all stows in the boot no bother and they feel just as 'convertibely' roof off as the full convertible. I suppose you could argue the 'Vert' looks better roof down, but that's about it.

It probably wasnt the best idea from a financial point of view. Sags definitely seem to fetch a premium in the classifieds.

The single biggest reason for the change was that I wanted everything I loved about the Sagaris but in a convertible. The later Tuscan 2s are the closest thing you'll get to that. In fact, bar the wide track suspension they are all but identical underneath. So they both handle superbly. After many miles of sprited driving in both cars I'd say the Sag is more stable under braking and perhaps a bit friendlier on the limit but the Tuscan has all of the Saggy's agility and is perhaps even quicker to turn-in. The tuscan must be more aerodynamic and I think it has the edge in a straight line over the Saggy once you hit 100mph.

The second biggest advantage of the Tuscan is the bonnet. The Saggy's bonnet never inspired much confidence at high speed. Not much of a problem in the UK but on the continent, when you want to push on a bit the wobbling and lifting going on just made me want to hold back. In fairness I saw 140 a few times but I didn't fancy going much over that. 170+? Rather you than me. The Tuscan is the opposite - you can't get the bonnet off at any speed, not even stationary!

I was and still and still am a huge Sagaris fan. The motorshow car (with the vents cut out) remains one of the most exciting looking cars I've ever seen. I was a bit disappointed that the production cars had the vents filled in but the handling was a revelation. I can remember some delicious and epic oversteers round the nurburgring in the wet and you need a pretty special handling car to make a wet nurburgring seem fun! A 4wd 996 turbo I drove on the same day felt trecherous and evil handling in comparison.

When the track was dry I had one of my best car experiences ever. I was taking a friend for a lap in the Saggy, taking it fairly easy when a black mk 1 tuscan S appeared in my mirrors, gaining fast. That was it. Sorry Chas, but we're going to have to up the ante. I let the tuscan past round the karrussel (I didn't want to scratch the Saggy so always took the high line) and from there to the end of the lap it was game on. I can remember the tiniest of straight line advantages up the hill from the karrusell but otherwise there was nothing in it. If anything the aussie tuscan owner (who claimed to have never been to the ring before) had pulled out a couple of lengths on me by the end of the lap. Safe to say I came away both impressed with the balance and grip of the Saggy but also deeply impressed with the Tuscan. In the right hands they can really fly.

Short answer: If you like convertibles get a Tuscan. If you don't get a Saggy.

...then cut the vents out, fit a supercharged racing green fff and hey presto you've got possibly the coolest car in the world!

My vote: Tuscan.
