Just put up my V70 for sale and I am getting a lot of calls from traders, have I pitched it to low or am I about right? Hard to know the price point.

seems a good price - might be because it's a desirable diesel auto estate - they prob have customers wanting one - either way - crank up the price a little and see what happens

The trade is currently very short of good quality stock at the moment. The credit crunch has meant that fewer new cars are sold thus fewer cars get traded in.I had great difficulty finding a good S60 D5.Two months ago there were plenty around but over the last 4 weeks or so used prices have actually gone up.It is a good old case of supply and demand. If you are happy with your price that is good, dont bend over backwards to sell cheaper to the first viewer, there will be someone else along if you cant do a deal.

Good luck.

I had a letter from my local dealer the other day, saying they wanted to buy my car as they were looking for new stock and wanted stuff like mine. However, they also stuck a brochure in for all the deals they're doing on new cars at the moment, so maybe its just a ruse to get people in the showroom.

I've bought new twice from them before, which might be why I've been sent a mailshot...however when I went to look at a new car in October/November and asked about a trade in price for my car; I wasnt expecting to get bent over the desk quite like I did, and won't be going back anytime soon.

To avoid complaint form traders the price may stipulate 'on call' 'by request' etc, serious buyer will not have any problem to make a phone call.

Otherwise if it is possible asked them the trader or dealer to sell the car higher than your selling price.

I've had a similar thing - I think they will genuinely be interested in your car, but also see it as an opportunity to get you in a shiny new one!

Same here Volvo dealer flyer expressing interest in buying my '06 S60 D5. Know it will cost me money to change though and can't fault the current bus.

Exactamundo, I actually prefer the look of my V70 compared to the new one and apart from having a proper ipod docking station, there is nothing I want for in my current bus....and it would probably cost me upto 10K just to have a newer looking car, but with pretty much the same spec and performance.
