Button/Brawn - bookies favourite for Oz GP... why?

I've not been keeping up with recent events, obviously...

Anyone tell me why Button in a Brawn is expected to beat Ferrari, McLaren et all? What have I missed, is it a case of hysteria about some (presumed) good testing times or are the bookies really thinking we'll all bet on the favourite, all lose and they'll rake it in?

Sorry if it's obvious but I can't make sense of it all.

They've been significantly faster in practice. Massa and Hamilton have both said they don't think it's possible for them at the moment to match the times Brawn was setting.

This diffuser melarkey might mean they are sitting on pole come Sunday but come the race im sure KERS, reliability and Button not having anything to follow will all play an important partin the final outcome. I would still be putting my money on the Red or Silver cars, think they will struggle on one lap pace but have the pace in the race and have the KERS package to take a win.

For the first time ever, i'm actually tempted to have a punt on a GP win, but who to back?

As a McLaren fan, i'd love to stick a tenner on Hamilton, however the pace of the Brawn GP cars in testing cannot be ignored. Maybe I should stick a fiver each on Hamilton, Button and Barrichelo?

Maybe a Mr R Brawn had a tenner in his back pocket and decided that he'd buy an F1 team for £1 and then bet the other £9 on his team winning the first GP.

If he wins, then the team is financed for the season!
