Hi,

One of my friends is holding a poker/cheese/port night at his house soon (don't ask, he's a bit weird). Anyway, one of the requirements is that we bring along a cheese. Now I want to buy something nice, but not too expensive as I am a student. So, I read something about crunchy cheese on here that sounds nice, but where can I get it? I have a Sainsbury's close to me, and apparently they sell it there, but I can't find it? Or somewhere online will do...? Or any suggestions of other nice cheeses will do.

Thanks

Cornish Cruncher Cheddar. It's quite common in the supermarkets lately. I know M&S and Waitrose do it for sure.

I'ev had certain types of cheddar which seem to have a cvrystalline crunch to them. Very mature/salty varieties seem to do this. I can't say I really like it as I like my cheese to be smooth tasting.

Now that is truly a weapons grade cheese.

How about some stinking bishop?

How about goats cheese as a leftfield choice? Capricorn from Somerset is very, very good; bold flavour, sharp and creamy.

I like my cheese to be soft and creamy.

wensledale and cranberrys is good, nice and soft and creamy.

but also are flip top head style chedders.
