I find myself drawn to the idea of an XK8 to replace the TVR Griff and Jag XJ8 I currently have. I sat in one about 2 years ago though and found the headroom felt limited but the salesman couldn't seem to lower the seat i.e. the control didn't seem to work.

I'm about 6ft 1in and am curious how many other XK owners are tall and how you find it - I'm specifically interested in models of 200-2003 vintage.

Also I have a 4 year old daughter and a 5ft 4 inch wife - how comfortable do you think we'd all be in a convertible or coupe (I'd prefer a convertible but know the rear seat is more cramped.

Grateful for any views.

I'm 6.2 and drive a 2004 XK8 convertible. Plenty of space (but not in the back !)

With the passenger seat pulled forward a bit, you'll have plenty room.

I'm 6ft 3 and fit okay with the seat low and almost as far back as it will go. I have the coupe and my daughter sits in the back behind the passenger seat which is pulled further forward. No problem or complaints at the moment!

6'2" long legs. Just enough room for me with seat all the way back. Earlier seats with integral headrests are not as deep and give a bit more leg room. It's comfy and cosy but no aches and pains even after a 300m journey

6ft 2" with a '97 XK8 coupe' no problems at all, feel refreshed even on long journeys.

6' 1' and have had 2 coupes, a 97 XK8 and now a 01 XKR (with the newer, "headrest" seats) and have an 8 year old.

The later seat backs definitely take up more space and certainly there is NO room behind me in either model. My other half is 5' 9' and behind her in the '97 XK8 space was Ok for a 7 year old but I have to say the new car is borderline and we get some "whining" from the rear :-)

Did look at Convertible but space looked even more cramped, across width of the rear seats.
