Second hand prices

Hi folks,

I'm on my third Caterham and am considering an early Ultima as a replacement some time next year. I'm finding it difficult to get a feel for second hand prices. With a budget of 25K will I be able to afford an early GTR? The spec I would want is as follows.

1. 400bhp chevy small block.
2. G50 'box.
3. Rear wing.

Hi Martin

You may be pushing it a bit for a GTR but there have certainly been a couple of Sports around that budget.
If its a GTR you want you will probably have to go to at least 30k.

The secondhand prices do seem to vary somewhat, most of the gtr's seem to be in the35k-50k band.

The good thing about finding an Ultima though is that someone on here will probably know about it and its history.

there have been a few GTR's and canams changing hands for under £30k... you just have to shop around.
My advice is to shop considering condition over age.

Indeed,I agree with the above.The main factor in the lower priced cars seems to be "fitted with engines under 500bhp" .....Not like were a power crazed bunch now are we?
