Sounds stupid but you'd still be amazed how many people leave there keys in easily accesable places. Do yourselves a favour, take your keys and wallets/purses upstairs to bed with you and dont leave them on the kitchen table.

If these people are only after your cars they are quick in and out and wont risk searching the house for a set of keys.

....or, they come up and cut bits of your kid's bodies off until you hand over the keys. I think I know what I'd rather have happen.

That was my thinking. Wait a sec. I don't have any children.

Thats really bad news Phil i hope they are ok besides the loss of property.

And if they try it at our house they would regret it as a shot gun would be their welcoming comittee, in my home uninvited then you are playing by my rules!

And yes i would do time preserving my loved ones and hard earned possesions.

Too much softy bl*$dy wimpism in this country allowing scrotes like this to get away with it.

Bring back capital punishment and birch the feckers makes my p*&s boil!

I totally agree with you but it is a sad situation when as the general law abiding public we are left with a choice to either make a criminals life easier or fear what could happen otherwise.

On a more practical note, it's a good idea to have a house alarm with night/sleep settings. Remarkably cheap and given the financial outlook at the moment, the frequency of these events will only increase in the short term.

Sorry to hear of the burglary last night, I hope all is replaceable.

If anyone wants to steal my car (and set fire to it) the keys are always on the desk in the hall (well normally). HTH.

Sorry to hear about that Phil.

Yep, and of course I don't practice what I preach - I've stood up to people on several occasions, including chasing someone down the street who tried to get into my last house and detaining a very "hyper" intruder at work, only to think afterwards that it could easily have gone badly wrong.

Update, the car has been found in Reading, the worlds dumbest criminals stole the car and left everything in it including lots of finger prints.
