This is a serious post before you read this.

I am looking to build a speed 12. I have inside information, dimensions etc... on the car. I will be building one for ourselves using an existing cerbera chassis with everything else uprated. I have also spoke to the ex-designers and other members of staff who worked on the car. I have a shell to do the master work on.

I am looking for any interest on someone funding the project. They will get:

. The rights and the moulds to make more cars.
. A complete shell with doors, bonnet, boot, ready in primer or painted.
. I can make it fit an existing Cerbera chassis or if you have your own spaceframe you wish me to build it on this is also possible.

Any serious enquiries please email me thanks.

I assume you've spoken to, or contacted G1AAB?

I know he has the race shell, and I don't think he would be up for me taking a mould off his panels to make one, so I will have to make everything.

so i take it this would be for people who want replica speed 12's. could it be just a body swap or is it more than that?

Basically, the one I would like to do would use standard Cerbera chassis and running gear, but with modified suspension/wheel set up to allow for the wider wings.

You don't find out anything if you don't ask!

I've costed up pretty much exactly what you are attempting to do, except that without the correct body shape to start with it will cost a fortune to come up with something vaguely close to the original.

Hi Graham

Thats why I was looking to use a donor Cerb, so I would have everything. I could mate your shell to and existing cerbera floor pan, this would then allow you to use All Cerbera running gear, chassis and suspenson. I could have all that done within a week!
A rolling shell in less than 2

Presumably you wouldn't be able to use all Cerbera running gear and suspension will you? I always thought the speed 12 chassis was a lot wider and with a much wder track; so would to not ned to do a lot of cutting and welding to a cerbera chassis?

Longer wishbones or extended pick up points on the chassis. The latter is how the Sagaris gets its wider track compared with the T350/Tuscan/Tamora - in all other respects the chassis are identical

Exactly!

Its not that hard!

Trust me , I worked in development and design at marcos, These things can but done in a relatively short period!

Surley the mounting points for the body must be in completley different locations? The speed 12 chassis was designed for a massive 90 degree v12, so is clearly very different. Obviously is all do-able one way or another, Im just surprised its such a straight forward job (but then I guess it entirley depends on who's doing the task).

This is the thing, If I use the cerbera floor pan, it will fit a Cerb chassis, The shell would just drop over the top and be glassed in place where I want it. I have had to create floorpans before from scratch, so mating a shell with another is a walk in the park in comparison.

Very ambitious! Speed 12 body shell is totally different in every respect and not in one piece. It just would not hang together that easily. Speed 12 is a full 2 metres wide. It is however possible to design a full replica body shell but how would you achieve that as you don't have the correct shape to work from? As I said before I've costed this option up based on building a high spec version and it really can't be done properly for less than six figures, and in reality much more than that, especially if you plan to make it usable on the road.

It seems you are asking for a huge investment.

As I have said before I used to work in development at Marcos, this is the sort of thing we used to do all the time.

how would you achieve that as you don't have the correct shape to work from?: You dont need the shape in the first place, I can create the shape required as per developing a new car at TVR, use an existing shell and cut it too bits and make the shape I want.

how are you going to build yours? what exactly do you have?
