are Cerbie prices on the rise?
Discussion
I think we ought to do what someone on here suggested not long ago. That is to add 3k on to all cerbs being sold, as they are a very rare and very undervalued car. Eventualy due to the low numbers, people will be forced into haveing to pay what i feel they are truly worth. Look at the prices of griffs at the moment. It must in the end come down to supply and demand.

I think it is a combination of things, including
- car was previously in Ireland (so hard to view etc)
- previously it was cheaply priced (so some people assumed something wrong)
- car is now steeply priced for private
Yes I sort of take your point- car was previously in Ireland (so hard to view etc)
- previously it was cheaply priced (so some people assumed something wrong)
- car is now steeply priced for private
Belfast is not that far away 60 quid easyjet, it was a nice example (met the original owner at Cream one year),

Interesting......
We all talk on here that our Cerbs are undervalued and then when I advertise mine I get slated for asking for what I consider a realistic price considering the car is in excellent condition, well looked after and one of last ones made. Have a look through the register and the ad's on here, some advertised as the last ones from 2003!!!
I've already turned down two offers of £20K as I bought the car to keep it but now the sun has come out I am CONSIDERING a Tuscan.
If you look at the other cars for sale this one isn't overly priced, and if it doesn't sell then I'm keeping it.
Big Col - The car was advertised for about 6 months when I bought it, probably because the car was in NI and no one wanted to take the trip to see it. I don't see the need when someone is trying to sell their car the need to guess at the price the car was sold for and then advertise it on here.
ETA Comment removed from that post.
I agree with Verminator that we should all be more realistic with our prices, look how few are available, especially when you take out the very early cars. You are right about the Griffs.

Good ones should be appropriately priced. If anything, I think it's still too cheap.
Dick1e - I'm dreading putting my one up for sale because of these kind of threads (not I've hidden anything - the threads are there for all to see).
I think just taking those bloody www. vinyl grafx off the side should be worth something at the very least!
Looks fantastic - tasteful colour combo - best of luck with the sale.
And if you're thinking about a Tuscan . . .

Eh? EH??!!

I had mine up for sale for what I thought was a fair price for a cerb in top dollar condition. I got sick of time wasters in the end. Like you the sunshine is doing it for me right now so I've taken it off sale for now.We all talk on here that our Cerbs are undervalued and then when I advertise mine I get slated for asking for what I consider a realistic price considering the car is in excellent condition, well looked after and one of last ones made. Yep, this type of thread seems to be in vogue at the moment, especially on the porsche forum. FWIW I think thecar in question is in the right ballpark assuming it is in excellent condition. Cheap, scruffy cerbs are best avoided
unless you are planning a restoration project IMO.
People always love to talk down prices, it is usually just dreamers with no interest in buying but we all do it to
some extent especially in the current climate!
Just put your car up for sale at a price you are prepared to accept and ignore all the idiots and their 'expert' opinions
on it's value. If it doesn't sell then you'll know it is simply overpriced for the current market conditions.
Good luck.
There seem to be a lot of expert idiots on these tvr forums. how many threads have been posted by people asking about specific cars, and the marque in general, that are dismissed by the experts here as too expensive for various reasons. Including personal tastes in colour combinations, let alone things that may be wrong with the cars that these experts diagnose by just looking at the add pics. No wonder cars go that cheap. The bottom line is that, owners (or just forum users) are shooting themselves in the foot by putting off buyers and driving the prices down!

And that goes for all tvrs

Well said that man, just look at how much you would pay for another car with similar performance, looks and style rather than a Cerb and you may have a wake up call; Ferrari 355's at 35k or 1997 993 Porsche's at 25k a 996 Turbo at 45k suddenly a sorted 2004 Cerb at around 20k seems to make perfect sense and excellent value..
Thanks Guys. See there are some sensible people using these forums.
As I pointed out from the beginning I am only considering selling the car if I get the right money, if not then I am a Cerb owner for many more years.
I agree that Cerb's seem to be talked down in price especially against other brands, 993's especially. Which is more appealing, a 100K mile 993 for £20K or a well sorted Cerb????

) I seem to recall it was sold for 5k less than this price, does this reflect the market or is this just wishful thinking on the sellers part?
