Helmets without peaks just look wrong to me.
I'll be binning my MET soon in favour of a Fox Flux, I've also got a massive dome and don't want to look like a Mushroom on my bike.
Fox Flux looks nice, I just need to find a good bike shop with a good range of Helmets. Even my local Evans did not have that many to choose from.I'll be binning my MET soon in favour of a Fox Flux, I've also got a massive dome and don't want to look like a Mushroom on my bike.
Try as many as you can within your budget, and buy whatever fits the best
One thing I don't like about the Fox lid is that rear vent/spoiler thing: not from a styling POV, but due to the fact it's sticking out, ready to catch on something, and ready to dig in and yank your head around in the process.
Don't worry about "looking like a mushroom": we all do avec lid. Add to that the fact that we wear clothing that can be described as "dubious" at best, and hang around with lycra-clad men in forests, getting muddy and hurting ourselves, and suddenly, a "mushrom"-like or -unlike head doesn't really make much of a difference!

One that fits!!!!
Cant stress that enough, Helmets are the one thing you dont buy off the net based on price alone.
You must try some, different manufacturers use very different anthro data to design.

I'm very happy with my Giro Xen but Neil can't get it on his head; he has a Fox Flux iirc.

- tried a Giro and found they've fiddled with the shape - I used to have a SuperMoto years ago (ace helmets) but alas can't get on with them now.The Flux fitted perfectly.
No crash replacement I believe, but excellent customer service as they happily replaced the adjuster strap unit FOC overnight - and the helmet is over 2 years old!
Have a Fox Flux and very pleased with it but shape/fitwise you need to try before you buy as has been said. Plenty of cooling and seems strong enough, tried it out against a tree yesterday and both of us survived ok! Had some trouble with the side clips breaking soon after I bought it but was changed for stronger ones without charge. I've had mine over a year now and Fox may have changed these, it was a known problem at the time.

Must have been what happened to mine then - they replaced it FOC quickly and without fuss Gassing Station | Pedal Powered | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
