Hello folks, I don't want to introduce myself too much at this stage as I'm sure my tvr husband will read this post!!

I am looking for a die cast model of a tvr Cerbera and wondered if anyone has any recommendations with regard to outlets/websites that may sell these?

I have done a quick search but couldn't see anything obvious in the archives.

Any ideas greatfully received!!

Many thanks in advance

Hi Wife,

This is about as good as it gets

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/SMTS-CL76-TVR-CERBERA-MET-LT...

A bit on the small side and a bit pricey, but I have to say they are very well built (hand made).

So far no die cast model maker has decided it is worthwhile to produce Cerbera's (normal decent size is 1:18 scale), and with the Cerb now not being in production for a few years I think it's even less likely.

Jules.

ps Forgot to add that you can contact the Maker direct (instead of Ebay) and request different colors etc. Mine is in the same colour as my first Cerb (nightfire pearl red) and was also bought for me as a gift.

Bloody Hell Jules, you've got some wealthy friends yikes
Is it my mistake or is that a pre-2000 model ?

Aparently Jadi models make a 1:18 scale cerbie model, john ayrey diecast lists it in his catalogue:
http://www.ayrey.co.uk/startframe.html
if you browse the catalogue and select jadi models, it's listed there. I ordered one from my local model shop around a month ago but it's been placed on backorder with no estimate of delivery.

Yup, if you got to This page, click on the search icon and fill in 'Cerbera' in the 'Model descritions' section, there is a choice of 5.

I've done quite a lot of looking myself - online and various back-water model shops and resources, and would echo what's said here - these are the best you're likley to find, in my experience.

Certainly interested to look into any other "suppliers" you might come across on your investigations though, so will keep an interested eye on the thread...

TVR Wife, contact SMTS direct (as the lovely Mrs FUBAR did smile) and they will make you one customised to TVR Husband's car. IIRC it cost about £75 built (as opposed to in kit form)

They are on the small side but the quality is excellent (nice heavy weight to them as they are made from metal, not cheapy plastic) and perfect for sitting on the desk smile

I have a V8S SMTS model still unbuilt in kit form - trust me the built price is worth every penny, there are a million seperate pieces and certainly with the V8S there is a lot of detail.
They earn every penny of the additional £35 or so they charge to build it.

Woolworths did a soap in the shape of a Cerbera, called 'Sports Car Soap'! It was actually a pretty accurate shape.

Have a look at GrandPrix Models here
Listed are built SMTS models and a diecast from Spark, which in my experience are usually pretty good still small(ish) at 1:43rd but a great deal cheaper.

I doubt the V5 will have the exact colour listed on it. Probably just say red/green/blue etc.

You need to sneak out to the car, take a photo of the inside and outside and either post it on here or email it to one of us for verification of colour, or try and casually bring it up in convo with the old man ("Hey Darling/Sir/oi git (delete as applicable), a friend was saying how nice the car looked, but asked me exactly what colour it was" etc etc wink)

Or you can look at the owners' manual, where the colour name and code is listed biggrin

You're kidding right? I keep all car documentation away from Mrs Fubes. She knows how much I spend on the car (ok, maybe not 'all' of it) and if she had access to the legal paperwork Id come home and find the car sold frown

Only kidding dear smile (Im sure she doesnt come on PH? I think scratchchinyikes)

Right peeps, I have finally rung the guy recommended by Fubar to place an order. The guy I spoke to was very helpful but tells me that currently he is experiencing such low demand that they have stopped producing the Cerberea for the short term.

If he gets enough orders (10-12) he is happy to make a batch. He has a guy in Japan who is potentially putting in an order for 10 so this is looking hopeful and another lady has also shown an interest. If anyone does want to make an order the guys number is 01424 853353. He was really helpful and basically took down the details of the car and the contact details for me and will call me when he has enough interest.

As you will see from the last post hubby has sussed me out - due to the fact he had deicded to move/hide the car paperwork!!
