Im rooting for Jenson. It's about time this really nice Englishman got a competitive machine after having his F1 career blighted so unfortunately. I hope they get a bit of luck.
jenson button no offence he wouldnt be able to drive the wheel of a wheel barrow let alone an f1 car.....

I think Jensen is a stunning driver - theres no doubting he can hussle an uncompetitive car exceptionally quickly round a track. However he doesn't seem to have the same racing killer instinct during a race.
Never really seen him attack somebody like the way Lewis or Alonso does.

It would actually be good to see jenson in a ferrari and see how he handles it

Sum,s him upNever really seen him attack somebody like the way Lewis or Alonso does.
I would like to say that I am currently out in Oz as I work in F1 and from what I have seen so far Jenson isn't going to need a Ferrari to go quick, already I would say the Brawn is a very quick car and the Ferrai's are going to have quite a few problems keeping up, it's a very well engineered car. Expect the grid order to be a little different to the usual line up and I wouldn't expect great things from Mclaren just yet.

He's had poles/front row's before - goes back to him being a quick driver. It's just in a race surrounded by 20 odd other cars he is more defensive than others and drivers get the jump on him.
I expect Brawn/Toyota to run away with the first two races but if this does happen I reckon the FIA appeal in April will clarrify the rules on bodywork acting as diffusers and rule them illegal. However the results for the first two races will stand - this has happened many times before (for example mclaren's dual brake pedals and mass dampers) so wouldn't be to unexpected.
After all the FIA doesn't want to have all these rule changes just to replace ferrari/mclaren with toyota/Brawn...

Toyota may not be starting on the grid tomorrow, there appears to be a lot of protests going on at the moment....maybe nobody will be racing at this rate!

jenson is in pole position
i take back what i said maybe he is up to it.....
Anyone who has followed his career starting with Cadet karts, will know he has what it takes. It's just that the various folks he's been involved with in F1 haven't exactly helped his cause.
i take back what i said maybe he is up to it.....Now he has got what appears to be competitive machinery, I just hope all this poncing around is not going to spoil it for him again. He deserves better.

Who's watching it live
Me... I'm just walking out the front door now; it's 2.40pm, 25 degrees, only blue clouds for as far as the eye can see and I should be trackside in about 25 minutes.
This 5pm twilight start thingy is different but all good. Straight after the race all ticket holders (it's about 35 quid for a Sunday day pass here) get to see The Who for an open air concert at the track - double bonus!
I love Melbourne.
