Normal speed wipe & flick wipe have stopped working on my X308.
Everything else is fine, fuses are fine so am wondering if the relay is at fault?

I have a meter but am wondering/sking how to test the relay?

Anyone know?

cheers

Chances are either the switch has failed or the park microswitch inside the wiper motor is playing up.

I've never done this job, but aparently the microswich is easy to access and somtimes just needs a clean or easy replacement to fix. Symptoms of microswitch failure are both yours and random operation and incorrect wiper parking.

Either substitute a known good switch - maybe s/h from Eurojag - or try accessing the microswitch and giving it a clean.

It's very easy to fry XJ8 electrics - take care with a multimeter and FFS don't let your mate from the pub have a go at it. Best off IMO taking it to an auto electrician whe knows what he's doing if swich substution and cleaning don't fix it

Buy two new relays from Jaguar IIRC, theu are not very expensive, and I have changed hundreds of them for wiper faults. The relays are located NSF inner wing/engine bay.

Thanks chaps.

Sounds like a combo of probably new OE relays and/or micro switches and an auto sparky then.

Buy the relays and fit them yourself. Then see what happens.
