I have to say I was disappointed overall. DC was superb, Brundle as brilliant as ever. Humphreys was a let down. As for Eddied Jordan, I thought he was shocking. He was the one I was most looking forward to, he had some useful input, but his presenting style is awful. Early days I know, but I have to say that ITV's commentary was a lot better.
Other than Brundle I thought the program was quite poor. I got the feeling they were trying to keep everything quite simplistic where as ITV seemed to go into more detail, was that just me? I want to hear good technical info put across in a way we can all understand... But I did think they could have gone into details of the rule changes a little more.

I thought the commentary and whole production was a bit amateurish tbh. No excuse, they have time to practice and seemed as though they were pretty green overall.

on the whole, the first BBC coverage for years was miles better than ITV managed the whole time they had it.

The only improvement the BBC could make would be to get rid of that annoying git Kravitz. I'd rather have Louise 50-bangles than that tube.

Well, Legard hasn't commentated on F1 since 2003, so it may just be that he's a bit out of practice. I thought he was OK, but nothing special. Let's see what he's like after a few races before passing judgement.
come on lets be honest, we watch all the practices on the interactive tv, its all live with no ads so we dont miss anything, martin brundle is still the best there is. who cares about anything else. and after this morning quail it looks like its gonna be a close season with more overtaking!! could be the best season yet??
Seem to be in a minority here, but I find DC really irritating and think EJ is quite good.
Agree that Legard seems a bit of a pillock, but I'll reserve my hatred until after the race.
What the hell is all the Bernie worship about though?! Ok, we get it, you're glad to have won the coverage back from ITV but you don't have to kiss his arse at every opportunity.
No ads and a good sound track is a welcome change though!

It's not bad. Legard needs to calm down and seemed to be doing a radio commentary i.e. Too much (we can see!), which meant brundle couldn't get in with some insight, they also talked over each a few times. But as lead commentator it must difficult for legard, as he is actually the junior man, and it might be brumdle showing him the ropes, anyway i remember brundle saying once how different it was working with walker then the cock allen, so some comms, to iron out getting to know each other, and learning when one pauses, you can speak. Leg was obvioisly nervous, first sentence, "formula long..."
Humphreys alright, but lacks gravitas for anchor, although did alright, he's also a normal height, which makes everyone in f1 look like a midget.
DC looks like a good addition, far better than mark 'most definitely steve' blundell, as tv pundit.
Jordan is a cock, and looked like he was about to break into my coocachoo, everytime he raised his microphone towards his mouth.
Thought the opening titles dull, but you can see they've thrown money at the cgi, but it lacked atmos, moodiness or anticipation, rather defeating the purpose of the chain... Could have had any tune.
Other things of note cars still fugly, Branson came over like such a bandwagon jumper, even though he must have been onboard before oz gp, even though he was after max splash, not sure it did virgin a huge favour. Well done Ross brawn.

What's gone wrong at mclaren?
I think the cars look better than they have done for a while. They're still too skinny, and the front wings look a bit daft, especially the big plain white ones on the BGPs. But proper tyres (YES!) and some nice clean lines have tidied things up a bit.
Also, are the Ferraris a bit darker red this year? They seemed to be less orange than they have been in the last few years.

'We wanted to step in and save the team', my arse. He saw a good marketing opportunity and prised his cheque book out. Came across as a bit of a plonker really. I'm sure he's not, but why on earth he was interviewed is unusual. Never seen any other sponsors interviewed.
Anyway, as long as he is happy and doesn't get too involved I am pleased for Brawn. Did look funny seeing 2 derivers with no advertising to speak of on their overalls. Looked like a couple of club racers.

Not sure about the saving the team comment, but he does say that he would like to do things like that (Concorde?) so there could be some truth in it. As for why was he interviewed when other sponsors aren't - how many of the CEO of other sponsors are household names? I haven't watched it all yet, but once the commentary started I was just realised pleased it wasn't James Allen. I enjoyed the opening sequence, the soundtrack particularly giving me a feel good factor.
EJ has been massively indebted to the little man in the past and has respect for him, he may be alone in that, but it is his view and that is what he is being paid to provide. Plus the little man has agreed to an interview at each race so EJ won't want them to be too difficult.
