Currently got a Fujifilm S5800 which I am pretty happy with quality wise. Only thing is in continous shot mode it insists on refocusing on every shot, thus taking around 0.5 fps sleep. And then theres the 1fps 3 round burst rolleyes

I'm thinking about getting a S2000HD instead which also seems to double as a video recorder, has anyone got one of these cameras?

Does it still insist on autofocusing between every shot in continuous mode? Also, all the reviews etc. quote 15mins of HD video can be captured but how much can be taken using the lower res modes (640x480, 320x240)?

I'm not expecting SLR quality/fps or anything like that, just a jack of all trades if possible.

I don't know this camera but the general point behind continuous AF is that it *does* refocus between every shot, hence 'continuous'... if you don't need this facilty, then can't it be set to 'single shot AF' or similar?

There are 'continuous' and 'single' AF modes, in continuous mode the camera will continually focus during panning and in the latter the camera will only focus once the shutter is pressed down.

In the 'continuous shot' or 'long period' mode (i.e. to keep taking pictures as long as the shutter is held down) it refocus between every shot regardless of the AF setting. One workaround it to set it to manual focus although it is a bit fiddly on the S5800.
