Domino's Pizza
Discussion
I am sorry to say that I find Domino's are singularly the most appalling takeaway pizzas on sale in the UK. I have *never* had a good one. Same for the ones here in CH, absolutely dreadful. With no exaggeration, some of the frozen pizzas you can get at the supermarket are better.
Different animal in the US though where every Donkey-Nose I have had was quite good.
Probbaly not what you wanted to hear but all IMHO of course.

I think domino's are far better than pizza hut.
pizza hut's pizzas are just far too greasy, dominos round here are pretty good.
to above poster, I think it does differ from place to place, as I only ever tend to get good pizzas from them, not that I order loads, but I havnt really had a bad one from there.

We were going to have a Dominoes delivered last night so went online to order. £16 for a medium pizza and some potato skins.
Instead, we had a massive chinese and I'm not eating until 6pm today.
For peasant food, pizzas are a total rip-off. Margins must be 500% plus on each one surely?

Our local one is actually very good (and I never had high hopes for it).
They say 'it'll be there in 30 mins' but invariably, it is with us in 15 tops!
The pizzas are much less greasy than many others.
I'm not saying they are the best pizzas and would stand scrutiny against mama's own, but in isolation they are good. Meatball mayhem for me, please.
The best feature is the herb dip as generally I tend to leave the edges.

I think the pizzas are quite good, as long as you avoid the BBQ base that induces the most horrendous reflux and heartburn a few hours later.
The biggest issue with Dominos is price. £16 for a decent sized pizza is criminal. How they are doing well in the credit crunch is beyond me. The sides are also very expensive when compared to your non franchised chain takeaway.
The only time I ever buy them is when they are on the BOGOF. If they aren't, forget it. I can get two pizzas the same size, albeit not quite as nice, from up the road for about £10.
Incidentally, I used to be a Dominos delivery driver in my yoof, so am exactly aware of what is going on the pizza. Deliverywise, pick the peak times and select say 3 or 4 deliveries in the local area in one pop (it helps if you have good immediate local knowledge so that you can slide in, pick them up, and out again before anyone has the chance to say anything) that I could do in 20 minutes. I think my record was about 10 pizzas in an hour, which even after petrol worked out at a very good wage at the time. The bonus also was a free feed and taking home boxes of pizza at the end of the day for my mates. Plus a carrier bag full of the herb dip in the cupboard at home...Good times.

I always used to dislike Pizza Hut pizzas. As you say, they always had a strange greasy taste.pizza hut's pizzas are just far too greasy, dominos round here are pretty good.
But have you been recently?
My niece started working part-time at a PH restaurant while she's at college and insisted that since the menu revamp last year (remember the Pasta Hut ads?) that all of the food had improved.
So I popped along.... and do you know what? It had.
Mrs V8 was pleasantly surprised to find a goats cheese topped option and my more regular product had lost that greasy taste.
Can't say I'll use them regularly, but credit where it's due, their food has improved!
Back on topic, for the delivered pizza market, I think that Dominos are over-priced for the decidedly mediocre fare they provide. Good local independents are obviously great, but of the chains Perfect Pizza would always get my money.
