Feel for you. I'm sprouting a second finger nail right now after very nearly relieving myself of half a finger a month ago.

Did you go through the nail? Bloody hurt for about 2 weeks afterwards frown

Its all in the chop, use your forefingers first joint to rest against the knife blade when chopping, then hide your thumb behind your fingers. You cant hack yourself to bits then smile

You are right- it is all technique. I can finely slice an onion in about 10 secs but it all goes to pot when I am distracted. Kaiden did something new and cute, daddy was all proud (then he was distracted).

Ouch, I know that feeling. Last year I unboxed the new knives, washed them, did a stupid thing and cut right through the cloth/sponge and in to my finger, thurt for weeks, luckily I realised what was happening and started moving my hand away else it'd of been much worse.

I know all about distraction, GF came in to talk to me as I was putting handle on a drawer front, drilled through the wrong hole on the template, arse. Need to find some filler that matches now.

Distraction every time -I was too busy enjoying a tune on the radio whilst having a shave, continued to clean the crap out the blades by running my fingers back and forth ALONG the blades, continued oblivious for 30 secs til I looked down and saw shredded finger tip and blood. Ouch..

Ouch. My hand are starting to heal after all the grazed knuckes, swarf under finger nails and various other injuries incurred whilst working on my car. I reckon every single one of them was done when I was distracted (well I've got to blame someone!).
