BBC coverage. Rubbish.

I was looking forward to the new season with no ads. But I did want all the rest. Where were the explanations of the new rules and new bits ( batteries etc ). The live show was 3 hours long the repeat was 2 hours ( just the race and v. little else ). ITV used to repeat the live show in it's entirety. Worst of all the News during the Politics Show announced the results 55 mins before the repeat with no warning to turn off or block ears.

I liked it! I've already read quite a bit about the new tech pre-season so it was quite a relief not to receive the ITV style dumbed down explanation during the coverage.

My two big gripes, aside from additional content of the ITV years (however biased), were Jordan and his constant waffle, and Brundle's new commentary buddy Jonathan Legard - I'm really not sure he's actually any less annoying than James Allen!

IMHO - BBC should drop Legard in favour of Davidson (is he now a full-time member of the 5 Live team?) or Coulthard.

Otherwise I'm rather pleased, especially with the 'Red Button' services - although I still wait for the ads to come on...

I thought Legard was crap to start with but he seemed to improve as the race went on. He eventually seemed to grasp that he didn't need to be talking all the time. I think he'll be better next race.

Nooooo, Martin Haven or Ben Edwards. Either of those two would be perfect for F1.

I dont watch the buildup or the comments at the end.

The race coverage was pretty good.
I cant think of anything major to complain about. Im sure they will get better as the race goes on.

I thought the beebs coverage was miles betteer than ITV's, i think Jordan has the potential to be fantastic but they may need someone sharper than DC alongside him. Either way, Wallace and Grommit would be more informative than Ryder and Blundell, they were just the very worst.
