Don't know if anyone follows this, but they run a standing mile event in Texas for tuned cars, at this years event yesterday, the best Porsche was a 996TT which ran 231mph at 1 mile (1000+bhp road-legal). Also 3 Toyota Supras ran 240mph+ (all are 1200-1800bhp).

If these cars could run the longer length at Brunters, they'd be running 250mph+. I doubt they'd stop though........... smile

Joel from the viper forum ran in a similar event about 4 years ago in Nevada, he happened to win it smile though due to 40mph cross winds it was reduced to 1/2 mile. 2nd spot that day went to a japanese 15 strong team that flew a car in for the event

Nevada has some serious altitiude that makes a huge difference to the cars performance

Guy, you toddling along?

Ernest Fearns tells me there's something in one of your outhouses of a 'touring' designation that might be of interest to folk possessing more than a passing acquaintance with chairs...

It would Be 10 out of 10 and a free ratburger on Daz if it were to make a showing... wink

Squire: B10 V8 Tourer.

There's a small contingent of Alpina fetishists who would be inappropriately enthusiastic.

Oh, that one.

It's not a V8 though, it's a 3.2 Touring. Is still rare though, as it's one of only 4 in rhd and was the actual car tested by Autocar in 1997 (I have the original mag as well). She's still doing well at 120,000 miles and has even done the Scuderia Hanseat 4 day 'ring-training event in my incapable hands a few years back!

Sadly it's been parked by the wife a few times, so has her share of car-park concrete rash now.

Ah, Norfolk: much as I look forward to making the acquaintance with Mr. H Bear's premium perambulator, it is essential that Buchloe's Five puts in an appearance, also.

Hmmmm, possible..... is it over 650bhp? Current record holder (RT12) is a minimum of 650bhp, with really good aero too.... Harry's car does sound like a beast though, hence the reason I'm interested in doing a feature on it alongside the othe big power Vauxhalls smile
