DC v Jordan v Brundle

Is it such a great idea to put EJ in the middle of two 'great mates' when they clearly hate him, and vice versa. I like DC but comes across a bit dull, although he is not, Brundle is a racing mans man and top bloke, Jordan is a walking ego. Cant stand him. The body language spoke volumes.

Dear BBC, please do not put this man in my television again.

Even as a former Jordan fanatic I don't think he fits well into the coverage. Perhaps they could have him talking about things from a team owners point of view. Eg If he was Ross Brawn what would he do now? It'd give an interesting insight into the mindset of a team owner.

But as it was it felt like there were too many pundits and no real structure to the program, who would answer etc... just looked like a free for all albeit an interesting one.

EJ carries so much baggage from his time running F1 to be great... time will tell though but I found his pointed remarks a little wearing after about, well, 5 minutes!

We the veiwer aren't interested in his decision making process, we just want to watch good racing, it doesn't matter to us what stickers are on a car.

Speak for yourself. How do you know what the viewers want or don't want?

I am quite interested in the reasons why people do or don't do things. Why Virgin, which has shied away from motorsport up to now, suddenly seems to be interested is a worthwhile line of questioning - in my opinion.

I agree with wanting to find out a bit more about the sponsors reasons but EJ was painfull at points and seemed to adopt an interviewing style of a chat show host !

Personally I enjoyed learning a bit more about the sport in general and the business decision behind things as after all the sport is a business.

There was plenty of race coverage over the weekend so to balance it out with behind the scenes stuff was good.

Whether you like EJ or not, I think it is good to have someone who has strong opinions and doesn't just side with everyone elses opinions as it spices things up a bit and makes it more interesting.

Though O/T - Virgin have been in motorbikes for a while with the Mobile brand (and later the Virgin Media brand), so they have been into motorsport for a while before this move.

Guys the discussions would get very boring if we all agreed with each other. EJ is an opinionated git which is great. I want o see these guys auguring with each other. It makes for better TV. Also this just the first race, lets see how things develop over the next 3 or 4. No doubt EJ will look back on his performance and tune it accordingly

Yeah I find the 'tension' between DC and EJ very amusing. And atleast EJ does say exactly what he thinks. A diplomat he isn't.

If anything I would give Brundle a different sparring partner during the actual race.

Probably because he's bitter about Virgin not sponsoring Jordan after "1000s" of requests.

Fantastic coverage by the BBC, apart from the painful asre-licking that Eddie was doing to Sir Richard and all the ass-licked priase he gave to The Midget too, very uncomfortable to watch.

J Stewart is opinionated, which is great, but not egotistical. I like what he says, but I don't think I want to hear his voice. I just, and always have found, EJ irritating. As pointed out, it's all about him, I couldn't give a monkeys what qualifies him as a pundit. DC and MBs cv's are obvious. EJ, racing legend, nah, don't thinks so. To be honest I don't want them to argue, (it's not loose women after all ) just say what they think they saw from a racers point of view. If that creates banter then that's good telly.

I know it's early days, so the banter will come, but EJ will just annoy me the more I see him.
