This technolgy is not new. The 3D scanning and Selective Laser Sintering (which appears to be what they are doing) has been around for years.

It is not laser sintering it is fused deposition modeling.

I remember seeing something about a machine like this recently that can do it with concrete and they can make houses this way. I can't remember how it did the free standing horizontal sections, like floors, but it could.
