This has obviously been answered before but the search facility is not working and the first 37 pages revealed nothing frown
I need a new set of rear brake shoes, do any sierra shoes fit or is it a particular model? I've been looking at some on fleabay but wanted to double check prior to ordering.
Oh and on my MOT, my handbrake failed but only on the drivers side? The handbrake adjustment isn't independent is it, so how would one side be 80 and the other be at 40. I checked the shoes, they have equal wear and the foot brake efficiency is fine.
Sorry for all the questions over the last few months but it's my first S restoration and they're quite a lot different from TVR wedges and Austin healeys biggrin

Handbrake could be failing on one side for a number of reasons - seized cable on one side (poss rusted up) or a brake shoe sticking in the drum. It will be a mechanical problem there's not a lot of science to TVR brakes!

Thanks Johnny, I did check the alternative parts list but they didn't seem to tally up with the part numbers mentioned on flea bay.

Cheers guys for the info regarding the handbrake, partially seized cable sounds more than likely. I did have a look with the drums off yesterday, couldn't see anything obvious but i'll have another look tonight, armed to the teeth with WD-40.

You need the brake shoes from thr 2.0 models and the 2.3 diesel. Other ones may fit, I don't know, but I do know that those are the ones for the S.

It's not just the drum diameter you have to watch - it's also the width of the shoes (ie the depth of the drum) - the S takes the wider shoes.
