How do I reset the ECU. Is it enough to just disconnect the battery for a while or is there more to it?

No i think you have to unplug the main connector on the Ecu. just disconnecting the battery isnt good enough, apparently.

Either way works just as well, its simply a matter of removing the 12v supply from the ECU. Unplugging the ECU is likely to be quicker and easier than taking the battery terminal off though, and also avoids any hassle with alarms, radio etc which would be reset if you disconnected the battery.
