I've recently been running 16" wheels in favour of some big ones. They are Dunlop SP Sports 205/55 16 in size. On an e36 coupe with no loaded weight and only one driver and adult passenger each weighing around 70 kgs what pressures should I be running on the car as my current 32PSI all round makes the front feel weird. I usually run that pressure on bigger tyre but I was going to try 27 on front and 30 on back. Just need a general idea of anyone knows the ideal pressure for the car to be running. Thanks in advance.

Thought you said you had just got some Michelin pilot sports? I have been running 32 all round for the last 7 years with no problems!

On the Alpina wheels. I'm saving them so I put on 16's just to use the tread up and I wanted to see the difference. Check the forum pictures of the car in the snow. I took the 17's off when I got the tyres changed. smile

To be honest, most garages' air-lines aren't that accurate so I reckon that if it reads 30 it could be as low as 28 or perhaps as high as 32. So, I've always aimed to ensure that (a) they're around the 30-32 mark, and (b) they're at least consistent between themselves, i.e. rears same pressure and fronts same pressure (but not necessarily the same figures).

Works for me.
