... hi all about to sell my old M3 for a very sensible Forrester (race car to tow, load lugger, winter roads etc etc etc .

Part of the appeal is its a bit ugly and not as obvious to the Nova brigade as a 5dr Imprezza.

Does anyone know of any perf upgrades/chips etc that can be fitted to give it a bit more ooommpphhh. Ideally I don't want to compromise the warrenty and have heard something about "piggy back" chips that can be switched on/off but don't know much re the detail/availability. Any advice appreciated

Try www.ecutek.com

I believe (only investigated briefly) that the standard Forester dump valve leaks away boost to keep the power down, so you have to swap it for an Impreza one.

Word is that Prodrive are currently developing a performance upgrade for the XT, to be available via the dealer network ( sounds expensive ).
Upside is it will be covered by the usual 3 year warrantee I suppose.
Worth a 'phone call to your dealer to find out all the same. If the dealer turns out to be clueless, mail me and I'll have a word with a friend at Prodrive to see what the latest is
