I have a small(1inch) thin tear in the plastic part of my soft top for my boxter and asked AFN in Guildford for quote and they said they would have to replace the whole hood for this small tear at a cost of aroun £1000ish. Does anyone know of a cheaper local solution? I am in the Kingston area?
Particularly worried that the tear will get bigger this winter perhaps if no resolved?

a stitch in time, and all that.

I don't know of any specific companies in your area, but a quick Google should turn up some specialists who can help you out. You can get a small tear like that repaired almost invisibly. No need for a whole new roof at all.

By the plastic part - do you mean the rear window, if so try Trimania in Reading - they quoted about £250 for a new rear window on my Boxster.

Cheers,

Mike.

Contact Southbound Motor Trimmers in Hampshire www.911-classified.com/members/access.html who specialise in Porsche trim. Not the cheapest, and he has a long waiting list, but he has given me good advice before (without selling me anything)

Thanks Mike, I think that seemed the cheapest option

Hi Mike,
I couldn't find a company called Trimania in reading anywhere? Do you have a phone no or anything?
