Can someone confirm if this is the correct replacement for the stock V8 air filter:

http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=...

On my recent purchase the factory foam filter looks like it hasn't been changed in 20 years!

Thanks Ger,

Also just read that the K&N RU-1500 fits directly on the AFM.

Must check airflow figures for both of these models.

Hi Leigh,

I came across that data also but forgot to bookmark.

I've just fired off an e-mail to K & N to ask for this information for the two filters above.

Thanks.

Reply from K & N for those that may be interested.

Flow figures for the following K & N air filters.

1. E9029 - 400cfm

2. RU-1500 - 352cfm

Note that K&N achieve higher power figures than some filters because they don't filter as much. Why do you want to go away from the original filter set up? You won't need the increased flow:

Hi Jonathan,

I like sweeping statements like that biggrin

I cannot believe K & N are going to admit to that.

Any published scientific references?

I'm aware their claim to fame is that they can be cleaned and re-used.

BTW, what the conversion calc's for CFM to litres of air?

1 cfm = 0.4719 l/sec
2.119 cfm = 1 l/sec

Not sure if that if fact, I thought they flow more due to the design having a larger surface area.

Many people make claims about their own products. TVR chose a foam type filter from Wedge onwards; I've yet to see anything that would persuade me that the original design is lacking.
