You`d have lost, was doing an empty positioner t`other day and used full chat (we dont usually for revenue flights).

Managed 195mph halfway down Heathrows runway. Would have been quicker by the end but was limited due to a flap speed smile

Oh! that was in a twin engine Electric Death Jet (Airbus) (OK so not the same as AF1 but I still recon it`d be close)

195? Was that ground speed or IAS?

Ground speed.

In the old days before Optic ( aviations answer to a tachograph) I`d probably have been able to better that by a good 50-60 Knots.

Even on revenue flights when we are a good 20-40 tonnes heavier and will reduce thrust by up to 20% to reduce engine wear, you can still feel a quite positive push in the back and we`ll still be over 150 kts half distance.
(Remember we have to be able to take off with just one engine so we are grossly overpowered on two.)
