Hi Guys,

Tempted to swap my Z4M Roadster for a Maserati Spyder.
I'd love to get back into a convertible with a V8 soundtrack. I'd appreciate it if people in-the-know could post about the honest pros/cons about the cars?!?

Is there a risk I could be disappointed with it?
Are there any useful forums or reviews that tend to cover the relevant info?

Cheers in advance.

Graham

Do a forum search, much has been said. Can't remember exact dates, but cars after a certain year have glass rear window and uprated suspension hence better ride. Have one myself. Love it. Can be tempremental at times but its no Audi.

hi, ive had mine for 18 months (and is for sale in the classifieds).

It has big smile on face factor which is lacking imho in german cars. In the time ive had mine it has never missed a beat and has been in for service twice and not required any additional work (unlike my sl55 amg merc). At the kind of price they are now they are an awful lot of car for the money. CC (F1) box is much improved over the 355 i had but not nearly as good as 430.
Car feels nimble and a bit ferrari like (sort of half ferrari) unlike the new granturismo which felt very much like a normal car to me - i love the looks but was left a bit cold.
Pretty rare and not many for sale ever. I got lucky to find mine in the condition it was in.
Service costs are around 700 for the annual and about 1300 for the 18k one. Clutch around 1500. Tyres around 200-250 front/rear. Always gets a positive reaction unlike ferrari/porsche sometimes. Attracts some attention but nowhere near ferrari levels.

mid 2004 model had glass screen, plastic one is fine though - if its milky can be cleaned with special cleaner and replaced (zips out) for 200 or so. important extras were the CC box and sky hook suspension, then sat nav, hands free phone, electric seats etc

hope this is of some help. this is my 4th maser so they must be addictive...

I am seriously considering a Gransport over a 997 C2S, how reliable are they if not driven for a few weeks, there will be times when I don't need to drive or be away and the car could be left still in the garage for about 2-3 weeks, once it does get driven though it will be a mix of London/motorway miles. Are these cars ok to just leave and start??

Oh and there are a couple of nice ones at ADG Sevenoaks, anyone heard of them??
