Have picked up some scuffs on the nearside wheels of the VXR 500, does anyone have any recommendations re good Wheel Refurbishers in London/Kent borders area, ideally mobile units as two wheels need doing?

Any feedback much obliged

Hi, I damaged a wheel on my VXR8 and im not keen on smart wheel repairs so i went along to J.P.Polishing on Canvey Island who is the only person i know (im in the motor trade) who does a proper wheel refubishment wheels are stripped of tyres and then paint stripped and sand blasted before being powdercoated reassembled and balanced. All this for not much more than a smart repair, i ended up having all 4 wheels done as he does a finish called black Chrome check them out at

Theres also a place in Tonbridge called Spit N Polish, bit of a crappy name I know but they do a good job. Had some wheels straightened once and some others refurbed. Turn around is about 3 days.

I'm going to have to get mine done, having spent far too much time driving around central London. Any idea of approx price per wheel?

Realistically looking at around 50 quid per wheel from memory.

Could give these guys a ring to check -

How much did you pay if you don't mind me asking? The power silver finish looks lovely.

Thanks - that's not too bad - I'd heard horror stories in the past about VXR rims costing a lot more than normal - due to the paint finish? I'll give them a shout, Tonbridge isn't too far from me.

I've been enquiring and I'm getting the same "ooh those wheels are impossible to match" carp.. anyhoo, £75+ seems the norm here.

I got quoted £50 a wheel which seems quite reasonable for a complete strip down.

I Paid £200 for all four wheels to be done but then he does a lot of wheels for me, my wifes brand new Suzuki wheels were removed before she could drive it, came back a lovely gloss black for her white car. Im considering power silver for my Nissan Patrol wheels which ill get done soon.
