Hi

Im 17 and Im just wanting to know if anyone has any idea of what insurance company has the balls to insure me.
Im going down as a named driver and my mum as the policy holder. I know its stupid for me to insure myself on a BMW. Im going to sell my corsa to fund some of the prices. Its a 320cd,2dr,diesel, on a 54 reg.

Thanks

Brad

I've had to declare everything to my insurance company...I drive a moddifed 3 series coupe and a month ago I had to declare my exact horsepower with proof, first time I've ever heard of having to do that!

The BBC said:
A fraud called "fronting" occurs when a young person has a car in their own name, but the insurer is falsely told that a parent is the main driver.
The issue of fronting depends on whether you're the main driver of the car, nothing to do with how many cars are in the household. Obviously it's a grey area but insurance companies have been known to check with neighbours to see who drives the car the most.

I think you're going to have to find a specialist insurer to take you on. Google for insurers specialising in young drivers.

Of course what you don't want to hear is that you're better off on your own policy for a few years to build up NCD. Then by the time you're 25 you'll have full NCD and can insure whatever you want.

Ouch...what is stupid aswell is that when its asks what modifications it has it comes up with stickers...stickers??
Does that mean that the piston head sticker on the back could make a difference to my quote because it makes me a idiotic boy racer, christ.

There's a reason why insurers won't insure you on it. Why not buy something you can get insurance on instead?

I have an AC Schnitzer sticker on my rear just before the rear wheels and this on the window both sides:

I'm screwed...I had a list of two pages (A4) so I hope I've not missed anything...I declared everything just in case. When I hear stories of people not declaring...It's not worth it...I would rather be safe than sorry...only problem is I'm 21...and with all modifications declared to my BMW its double to undeclared price!!!

Shouldn't you declare that you may have been driving under the influence of Diet Coke - a well known substance of abuse!?

I don't think that the insurance companies need to know that one...maybe a plodder...

I wouldn't advise pouring that stuff over your paintwork have you seen what it does to your teeth?! I would suggest in that instance you may need to inform your insurance provider LOL.

To SXi Lad.

You are a mug, mate. And a dangerous mug. Not only are you not going to be insured, you are (and you will LOVE this bit) going to paying a fortune for the privilege of NOT being insured. You are fronting, you know you're fronting, and the insurers will know you are fronting, and will refuse any claim. What's more, your mother will be done for fraud and will find it impossible to insure a car every again. Well done. You fool.

Oh, and have some bonus points for posting on a public forum frequented by the police and half the insurance industry that you're selling your Corsa and buying a BMW, and challenging anyone to insure you for it.

While you're at it do a search for "Fronting Bint" on here, and see what happens to people who come on here boasting about their BMWs, smack them and then go to prison.

FFS what a cockend. You're 17 and you think you're Bertie Big Potatoes. You're not. The reason that you can't get insured is that you are a massive risk driving a shopping trolley round LIDLs. You should not be let near a BMW.

BUY A CAR YOU CAN AFFORD TO INSURE PROPERLY. OR GET THE BUS SON.

Rightly said...Get a BMW like me that you can afford to uinsure and run yourself and take it from there...chance's are you'll right it off!!! I know this will happen...Its a powerful car for a younger driver...When I was 18 I nearly ruined myself with an even more powerful BMW than your driving. You'll be sorry...

Exactly.

The insurers will take one look at it and laugh their b0ll0cks off. Then you and your mother will spend the next thirty years paying off the claim.

Idiot.

Good luck with that. People pay me 500 an hour for my advice, mate. You will NOT be getting a claim honoured if you crash it, trust me. I've been a lawyer since you were pooing in your Pampers, son.

You are WRONG.

Wait and see. Just don't crash into me, because if you do I'll make sure the Courts ruin your life.

Ok sorry soovy. I thought if I put my mum as the main driver as she will be using it for business and what not and me just using it occasionaly is ok. I thought it was legal.

Sorry, but I can only echo Soovy's advice. I have given the same advice to people time and time again, but they always ignore me. Insure it properly, or wait until you can. It really is as simple as that.

He's part of the L'Oreal Generation. He's been told he's WORTH IT all his life. He hasn't even passed his test and he wants a BMW because he's seen one with girls in it in a rap video.

Brad, you're a cock - you are willing to drag your Mum into a fraudulent transaction so that you can impress 14 year old girls at McDonalds. Buy a Mini and EARN the right to drive a fast car like the rest of us had to.

I say again, YOU WILL NOT BE INSURED. You have already posted enough evidence on here for any insurance company lawyer to refuse any claim.

But ah, you are wise beyond your years. You have, after all lived for 17 years and been driving for a few weeks. I have had a licence for a mere 20 years, along with 15 years experience of practising law and RUINING PEOPLE WHO COMMIT FRAUD ALL DAY LONG.

As I said, good luck. Just don't come near me when you're driving it.

Oh, and Fronting Bint......
