My S2 is a daily driver - cold dark mornings = heater + fan + lights + radio (ok - slightly less necessary..) - causes the Volts to drop to a very low level (off the bottom of the scale) - yet when the revs hit 2k this comes right back up again.

2 questions:

1) is this normal? - (the old 'they all do that sir'...)
2) is it bad to rev to 2k from cold?

There was a similar thread a couple of weeks ago where Pete Humphries gave an excellent explaination as to why this happens.

To answer your other question... its better to wait until the oil has nicely circulated before you rev the engine too much.
