I need to replace the accelerator cable on my '85 350i - anybody any ideas as to the doner vehicle this was taken from - struggling to identify it as local motor factors only carry limited stocks.

There is a comment on the wedgepages that a Quinton Hazell QTC4176 is the replacement but this part does not / no longer exists (according to motor factors and QH web site).

I have made a repair but would like to replace the outer sleeving as well as its quite badly worn.

Appreciate any help

Hi

There are two types of accelerator cable. Your car may have ether. Can you describe how your's fits on the engine.

I have spares of the later type, but not the earlier version!

TVRcarparts used to stock them - good heavy duty cable & fittings but you may need a second mortgage.

Speedy cables or TVR car parts. Car parts had one on the shelf when I wanted mine.

Think it is a TVR special. Never wanted to fork out the money required and stick to using a pushbike cable as a replacement. First one installed over 6 years ago, that is still fine and a spare with me just in case......
Ok, I confess that I am a money saving Dutch wedge owner.
