1stTC Volunteer Required
Discussion
We had is a brilliant response to the first posting and I have gone away and looked at what the original first tuesday club did at the turn of the millennium/met with other PHrs and put together an agenda, really just a starting point for how the first meeting might run. I've also had a bash at suggesting what the meetings might focus on, a kind of '3 rules of 1stT Club' - The primary focus being to assist others, that we will introduce ourselves initially (list skills, backgrounds etc) and that the body of the meeting will be about everyone pitching in to give advice and guidance and pledges of assistance to everyone else. So that's the easy bit, there are around 24 people who would/will attend the first meeting. Anyone who has been to a meeting with 20+ people knows that they tend to go on for a long time, actually anything over 10 people and pretty much whatever the subject, you're going to to be around for several hours. So there was a choice of either cutting down the numbers by some mercenary method, which would guarantee upsetting a large number of people, or dealing with the numbers in some other way than having a massive meeting. So after much thought and debate I decided to split the group into two, have two separate meetings. I am in the lucky position of only really having met members of this forum through having been out on drives with them and not having yet at least, attended a social evening so, other than having a vague awareness of some people's driving styles, really do not know much about many of you so could genuinely pick names at random which is what I have done in separating the group into two. So the next challenge is for me to find someone to host one of the groups, I can fit ten or so people in my humble abode but really need someone else to host and volunteer and to take the lead in chairing another meeting and taking notes etc. I will send across my agenda and general notes and hopefully the outputs from both meetings will be that a large list of tasks that will roll on to the next meeting. So if someone would like to volunteer we can kick off two meetings on the same say day at the same time and perhaps at some stage in the future if we get people dropping out or find that a larger group might be manageable then bring both groups together, whilst initially having started off with two smaller and more manageable groups.
Do we have any volunteers...?

I'm afraid I can't help with the hosting, I'm able to chip in at the moment with the admin, but not the hosting I'm afraid.
Could be worth emailing those who replied to the initial thread and see who is still up for coming along. Might have enough drop outs to make it just the one meeting.

It's cool, I'm just using my house as we've got ample parking and a room just big enough for 10 or so, but a pub that afforded a bit of privacy might work also - The Windmill at Windlesham might be one, it's got areas that could be 'taken over' and that are away from the rest of the pub.
Thanks for the offer on the admin side btw, I'll send you an agenda etc if someone can come up with a venue. Once we have that I can send invites out to both groups.
