Being rather old and not having gone very far in it's life (i'm talking about the car not me) my track rod end and front suspension ball joints have all got perished rubbers.

All of the joints are as solid as new, so i don't really want to replace them all.

Does anyone out there know whether you can buy the rubber gaiters individualy or do i have to spend a fortune and throw away perfectly good suspension gear?

Thanks in advance for any help.

we'll I can't talk specifically about TVRs, but you can get em for my Triumph without buying all the components too, so it would surprise me if you can't get 'em for TVRs.

IRC S Ball Joints are Saab 900 & Fiat 124/Lada 1200
so you could try your local motor factors for the rubbers. (Check the Parts Guide)

As for the Track rod ends, try Tower View as they supply recon racks.

That has happened to me.I am rather puzzled coz the car hasn't seen any moisture either on the road and lives in a warm garage.Yes I know it's sad, but there you go.The track rod ends were brand new from TVR, so why have the rubbers perished?I have a Fiesta which is 10 years old, stood outside all its life.Have the rubbers perished? NO so why has my pride and joy ultra nurtured baby suffered???Is there something in the part that makes it self destruct, so you have to buy another?? Perhaps its a ploy to make money out of unsuspecting S owners, coz i've bought 2 more.

The rubber probably dried out and lost its plyability due to being in a warm environment all the time. Just a thought.

Nothing wrong with a warm garage (i've got carpet too!!) Thanks for your help chaps. Probably a silly idea to check all my fuel pipes/ coolant hoses / driveshaft gaiters / engine mounts etc......!
