I've got about £3000 to spend on a new watch; I was looking at an IWC Pilot MkXXIV, but I thought the face looked a bit 'papery'. I've got an Omega Seamaster at the moment, so don't know if I need another Divers style watch, although I do have a hankering after a Rolex Submariner Date.

I've gone back and forth on loads of options, and now need some inspiration; so I pass it to you more knowledgeable people, to help me if you will.

The only stipulation is that it needs to be new; I've got some vouchers to use that I can get for any jewellers....I know a lot of them sell second hand examples, but I don't want to request my vouchers for somewhere, they then take a few weeks to arrive and I've missed the watch I wanted.

Thanks in advance.

Shame it's got to be new as a) you'll get a lot more for your moneu if you go used and b) I'm looking to sell my 16610 Sub wink

Lots to choose from at £3k - Panerai, maybe a nice Anonimo, Breitlings galore, perhaps even something like a Dornbluth might be within budget. So much choice! Any more ideas about what kind of watch you're after?

I quite like the idea of a Panerai, but not having really looked at them before I'm unsure of the range, especially within my budget; also the size of the ones I've seen put's me off a little bit because I have small 'girly' wrists. hehe

Breitlings can be a bit 'bling'; I guess I want something a bit more subtle. Although I did see what I think was a Navitimer on a rubber strap which looked lovely.

They are stunning, only had a chance to have a quick browse; I'll have to have a proper look when I get home from work.

Not sure any UK jewellers stock Dornblueth. Suspect they sell direct only in Europe.

For 3k new I`d be looking at JLC or G-P myself.

I love that IWC too.

I think that the steel version is around £4250.

Got to agree, that is stunning. I do keep looking at others and coming back to an IWC.

I've also seen on my browse of the web, a Panerai Luminor Base PAM00000 and really like the simple design; the only thing that concerns me is the size. Not sure of any local dealers that stock Panerai, so it's pretty hard trying to find one to try on.

If you hunt around and buy second hand you might just get a Blancpain Fifty Fathoms for around 3-3.5k. Which is in a different league. I used ot have one and regret part/exing it against a Royal Oak.

If you can use your vouchers in any jeweller then have a day in Hull visit Blowers little Aladdins cave for watch lovers. There is nothing better than getting an as new watch second hand at a large discount on new price.I have no connection with the firm other than a string of interesting swaps and changes with a decent bunch of blokes

Maybe its the photo but IMHO that doesn't look like a £3k watch it looks cheap.

My suggestion would be the Tag Monaco black face, black strap beautiful watch and you would have change
