...are like a war zone. Presently I have a hand-sized bruise on the inside of my left calf, several abrasions from triffid-like plants, a whacking great bruise on my right calf, a big cut on my knee, and a massive scrape along my shin.
I don't think I've had 'clean' legs for about the last 5 years. Anyone else finding this? Pumped and lean legs are one thing, but when they look as though you've been in the Somme...

try having multiple scars on your face, bit harder to hide I don't think I've had 'clean' legs for about the last 5 years. Anyone else finding this? Pumped and lean legs are one thing, but when they look as though you've been in the Somme...

hmmmm ever thought of wearing Knee shins
Pfft, man up boys.Knee/Shins on an XC bike? What's the world coming to?

The girls go c-c-c-razy for scars lads. I'm currently sporting a rather large scab running from the top of my knee cap, over my knee and half way down my shin from coming a cropper on the Long Mynd a few weeks ago. Walkers were a plenty on that route and I had blood all down my leg as I continued on the ride, to say I was beating them off with a stick is an understatement.
Scars are like the Lynx effect for proper men. Love 'em.
Left leg - usual scratches from triffids and things. The bruise was a log I slipped off at Lee Quarry:

Right leg - last night zooming down a bit of singletrack I came across a low branch (caused by the recent wind). Only thing was I had a bag on my back, with a camera tripod sticking out. No way I could get under it, no way to stop in time, so I tried to go around only to find the handlebars pointing towards me as I did my superman impression

Yeah, my legs have never looked the same since starting MTBing
It's not the plants but the DMRs and they tend to leave more permanent marks
