In the last 3 years of commuting, I've done over 8500 miles on my Sirrus - numerous pads and tyres replaced, plus both wheel hubs just recently, oh .and a minor fix to rear brake, other than that it's been very solid.
That might actually be more than I've done in my car now that I come to think of it...

Sorry about my first post ( i was tierd last night) what i ment to say was i travel about 25 to 30 miles a week and over 16 years of travelling to work and back the mileage has added up.
Like you Anniesdad i had a BMX when i was a kid,a chrome foxbat with a front Mag wheel, I was thinking about getting a Mag Burner to relive the good old days ,but not sure my old knees would cope and the mag wheels are strong enough for my weight.

Since 2001 typically been covering 4 or 5k a year due to work commitments but other years its been 7 or 8k
total about 125K
Guy I was riding with today did just 1,679 in March his running total is around 487k since 1978
1/2 million probably be spring 2010.
I was with him when he reached 300,000 on the Col du tourmalet
MTB miles about 250 a year
