T350 starting problem

My 05 T350T has just developed a problem after just 2000 miles. I was checking in for a ferry and had to stop and start quite a few times and also idle quite a bit. Result was the car would not start, it turns over, fires and dies. Revs go up and down fast but dies. Checked the inertia switch in passengers foot well. Changed all the plugs and they were wet and black. Turned over the engine with fuel pump and ignition switch pulled to dry out and left for a day, still no change.

Any wise chaps out there have an idea please?

i have recently had this problem, it was due to when the T350 was idling for a long time and the car getting hot. i spoke to a lot of people and had a number of recommendations (search on here for the post, was only a couple of months ago).

anyway, i think you need to check the following:

- Earth connection (connects to front chassis)
- Battery (someone else changed there battery and it sorted it)
- Starter Motor

In the end, i had the starter changed and now she fires up even when hot and been idling for long periods. (i think the garage also changed the 100 fuse for a 125 at the same time, no doubt they would have checked the earth lead too, so i can't be 100% accurate as to exactly what it was, but the changes i have made seem to have sorted it.

Did you find that she started up fine once cooled down? i used to leave mine for an hour and then boom, she'd start up no problem...

Got it sorted, dodgy chip in ECU, apparently they had a bad batch and my car was an 05

Mines a 54 plate and looking through my service history prior to me theres an invoice for a new ECU and a similar fault on the job card.
