A friend of mine has an interview with this company - the role is a recruitment associate

You have to pay for the training up front £150 or something and then you receive a percentage of every perosn that you place in the roles they have.

Anyone heard of this outfit and for some reason things don't add up......

Anyone know?

Do they take some 'arty' pics of you at the interview as well?

Have you looked at their website? Hardly top drawer jobs with fat placement commissions!

It's running your own business from home using their database and support. Other companies do this without the training costs, but if he doesn't already have experience of it he shouldn't bother.

Does the fee have to be paid via Moneygram or Western Union?

True, but easier to stick in a one liner on here whilst at work than research myself.

So, you pay them to train you and then work on commission only - I guess recruitment is awfully complex and requires "specialist" training and no doubt the earnings will be immense.

I remember when I went to work for my bank, I paid to go on a few courses, I had to pay my own expenses and hotel and even travel costs... No wait, I didn't, because it was a REAL job.

'Dec - 08 - PFU to supply Call Center staff for Swedish taxi company'

'Jan -09 -PFU win contract to supply Receptionists to Health clubs'

I don't think this is vague enough.....

Tricky market at the moment even for experienced recruiters, which I presume he's not, otherwise he wouldn't consider paying for training. Sounds like it should be avoided, if he really wants to get into recruitment he should wait for the economy to improve, when there'll be trainee consultant roles available again: then he'll actually get a basic salary and some proper training: 150 quid's not going to buy him anything useful.

If he has a very good sales background already and understands the work he'll need to put in to be successful then I may be able to help him out.
