Hey Guys!!

I was thinking about changing the springs to perhaps a stiffer rate of spring, My car (T350T 4.0, Hollow Pockets old car) currently has the standard Nitron set up, I feel its a bit soft, also im running a set of 255 wide rear wheels and they start to rub when im really going for it.

I also find under hard braking the back of the car goes really light.

Any ideas on what to go for? My pal is trying to get me on a few track days plus the ring also so Im thinking of going more towards a track set-up because the car is not an everyday car.

I have done a search but couldn't find anything to help

Cheers for everyones input in advance!

smile

What is on there at the moment? I upgraded mine from 325 front / 275 rear to 400 front / 325 rear and this made a big difference. This is on a Chim though, although the weight distribution and overall weight is pretty much the same. I am considering going further to 450 front / 375? rear. Need to play with damping settings a bit more before making this jump though.

To be honest im not sure what springs are in, any way of telling? I think its just the standard ones you get.

probably best to find a place with some experience of setting them up for fast road/trackdays etc

but 300-400 etc sounds a bit light to me - I used to run 450/550 on my old Elise with Nitrons for fast road use ...track cars are up in the 800's ...and thats on a car 300Kg lighter

/of course you best check with Nitron on the range they are valved for too

If the springs were from Nitron as well as the dampers (very likely)they will have the poundage number painted on if you clean them up. I've experimented with various Nitorn springs & dampers on mine for road & track, and found 500/400 pretty good which are similar to Sagaris rates, and surprisingly about double the std T350 rates! (even that's not very firm, as Bogie says) smile

I am bumbling along on 650 fronts 450 rears ( cant remember the bump/rebound I have it wrote down somewhere but cant put my hands on at the moment) shorter ARB with poly bushes. I can keep a lower ride height without tyre rub on 255x18 on the rears and 225x18 on the front

I would not recommend it the roads until the tyres are hot which is unlikely.

That sounds suitably firm for track Mark. One step further than I was prepared to go to banish last remnants of dive under braking smile
