I was reading all the posts about throttle cables thinking 'hope that doesn't happen to me on the way to the airport this afternoon' and so I wrote down the part number to get a spare just in case.
What happens? You guessed it. Managed to jam the throttle open with a packet of tissues and limped back home to get a spare car (does every TVR owner have a spare car? Seems you need one). Fortunately I had the part number in my pocket so when I got back last night the part was waiting for me.

I have two speare cars, both of which are as immobile as my TVR at the present. One golf has a leaky radiator after I did the head gasket (perhaps what caused it to go in the first place), and the other is in the final stages of an engine transplant. The Mrs is most unimpressed I have to say.
Still my cable turned up this morning, so I am expecting a real performance hike for the £65 I spent
There just isn't enough time for all this.
Best of luck,
Z
