St Georges Day - Pie & Ale
Discussion
Being the patriotic chap that I am, I have been thinking of late that we do not make enough of our day to be quintessentially English. Not British; English!
Much is made of St Patrick’s Day, St David’s Day and even the jocks have St Andrew’s Day. When I ultimately come to power, I will ensure that it's declared a Public Holiday however until then, may I suggest we mark this monumental occasion with Pie and Ale on the 23rd April at The Hobgoblin and then Sweeney & Todds?
“St George he was for England and before he killed the dragon he drank a pint of English ale out of an English flagon” I think we should do the same.
ETA..
Table booked for twenty people at 20:00hrs under the name of Lord Nimmo and Osborne.
Meet at the Hobgoblin http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/36/367/Hobg... any time before then and for those planning on meeting at the restaurant, details here: http://www.readingrestaurants.com/sweeney_todd/
Approx directions from pub to grub below.

Fairplay to you guys, since being self employed 6 years ago I have NEVER worked on St. George's Day. Usually spend the day ambling around Pubs drinking fine English beer and eating fine English Cuisine. Your little gathering may be a bit difficult for me to get home from but I SALUTE YOU ALL!
