I've only had my 328 for a few months now and the only thing that spoils it is the way the dash reflects into the windscreen which can dangerously restrict vision at times. Does anyone know of any tried and tested solutions to resolving this problem?

Is the dash in a bright colour, or dark & shiny?

A lot of people (esp Americans) buy the "carpet" dash cover (my mate with a 328 has got one). It's basically a bit of, er, black carpet which goes over the whole dash and stops reflections. Has cut outs for air vents etc. Has the additional advantage of stopping sun damage to the dash (cracking) though that's more of a use in hotter climes. Looks ugly though IMO, but it works.

If it's leather, you could use a leather food that gives a matt finish such as Gliptone. If, on the other hand, it's vinyl, the reflection is probably due to silicones that have built up, and if you strip that off, it should be an improvement. Whatever, there should be something out there you can spray on, or rub on so that you don't have to resort to dash covers. Unless you really have a cracking dash problem, it's overkill.

The problem that KGL is having is a very common one, and it's down to the (bad) design of the dash. The instrument pod is quite close to the windscreen (makes it a bu**er to clean the inside of the glass too ) and is angled badly, meaning that when driving into the sun you get a lot of glare onto the inside of the screen, right in front of the drivers vision.

It's a case of "they all do that guv". Even making the dash a little bit more matt with cleaning products wont make that much (any ?) of a difference, it's a design issue.

Hence why there's a thriving market for the silly carpet cover things.
