I hope someone on PH can give me advice regarding finding accommodation in Dubai. There are four of us going out there on the 17th through to 23rd April, flights booked no problem, but we are struggling to find a hotel room or apartment to rent without having our eyeballs plucked out. There's apparently little below £200 per night which is a bit on the steep side.

I wonder if anyone has any suggestions, contacts or even a property they want to do a short holiday let? All ideas gratefully received.

Thanks.

Have you checked the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express? They are usually around £60 a night. Just checked and the one in Safa Park is about £70 a night or in Internet Village (close to beach and good pubs) is about £80 a night. Also check the Ibis hotel.

Give them a call you can usually knock 'em down a few quid especially as it is 4 rooms.

A mate of mine got cheap flights for himself and the family to Dubai before Christmas. He rang around a few hotels and got one for 4 nights and the man on the phone said that it would be £460, what a bargain.

So the little holiday draws to an end and my mate goes to pay the bill but it was £460/ A NIGHTyikes

hehe

After a lot of calls the hotel halved the bill.

Despite the recession - hotels are still a ridiculous price! And yes the recession has hit bad - suddenly items are on sale in malls which they never used to be.

I wonder whether if you choose your hotel and faxed them stating that you wanted 4 rooms for x nights at y per night whether they might say yes?

Might find if it goes to the manager you get a yes!
