Hi,

the other day my car got dinged in the driver's side rear quarter by some old coffin dodger. The dents/dings are very shallow and hardly noticable but they show up against the rest of the car which hasn't got a mark on it. Can anyone recommend me a paintless dent removal company to remove the two dents? I don't want to have the panel drilled or painted at all and I don't mind paying for a top notch job.

Also im not sure if the dents can be removed due to their location close to the B-pillar (see circled areas in pic below) - does anyone know whether this will impede a repair?

Oh and im in Glasgow, but am prepared to travel across central Scotland.

Cheers,

Agar

Thats a gutter mate, think that will be a royal pain in the arse to repair unless you can see past the webbing inside the rear quarter from inside with the trim panel off?

Tell me about it. Haven't had the time to remove the rear quarter yet (i think that will prove to be a nightmare of a job in itself), but I really hope the dented area is accesible. Had it been anywhere else along the pannel, or even anywhere on the door it would have been much easier. Also managed to kerb two alloys in Belfast yesterday.....im wondering what will be next.

The rear panel is surprisingly easy to remove, just watch the small clips when putting it back on they ping off fairly easily.

Thats good news at least. I had new clips fitted to both interior rear quarter pannels during the car's last service because they kept on pinging off - looks like i'll be ordering some more.

I use Stephen Liddel from SL Dent repair - he lives just outside Lanark but he's often in Glasgow doing cars at dealers.

He's quite cheap (£40 a panel roughly) and he's VERY good.

His number is 07967 488371.

Website - http://www.sldentrepair.co.uk/contact.html

If you use him would you mind mentioning me (Andy with the red Subaru) - I might get a wee fiver off next time I see him!

Let me know how it goes Rich. I've got a nice crease in my drivers side door where some bint in a Tigra decided to side swipe me then drive off when I stopped and got out to inspect damage. [maybe she didnt know she hit me, after all there was only a big thump as her front wheel hit the drivers door, rear wheel hit my rear wheel. 3 series right beside you isnt that big a thing to notice rolleyes ]

Recognise the plate though, sure its a Bearsden car...

I will do, i'll either update this thread or PM you. Won't be getting done before my exams anyway.

Sorry to hear about the 3 series. Was it new or old Tigra? I'll keep an eye out for one with damage showing.

Wont be any damage showing, it was a good few months back now. Damage on mine is mild enough that I'll only bother fixing it when its time to sell. (once I'd removed the tyre rubber with t-cut from the door things didnt look so bad)

New model Tigra, red with silver roof. Positive I recognised the plate, since it wasnt from work, it must be from the Den.

One of those great situations where you end up having to take the hit yourself because its not worth going through the insurance process frown

Funny you mention exams. On the day of finishing my finals I took the bh out for a celebratory dinner in Glasgow... cops scudded the front of my car on response to a call. Nothing starts a romantic evening off quite as well as an hour and a half sat in George Square surrounded by marked cars with people staring at you...

Not actually seen any red ones about here, but i'll keep an eye out non the less. Getting mine repaired through the insurance wasn't even an option, ive got 3 years NCB but its not protected so i'll be damned if I loose it for a parking ding.

I used to park mine about the uni in the evenings when i go into the library but after this im getting the bus from now on.....grumble..

Update: 4.9.09

Booked the car in with Stephen Liddel of SL Dent Repair, at very short notice last Friday to get the two dents looked at. Much to my amazement he managed to remove both dents completely - and even spent extra time on the car to ensure that there were no marks left on the paint at all. The job was a tricky one because of access to the area, and the fact that the inner side of the panel had sound deadening material stuck onto it. The car now looks in A1 condition, and I'd thoroughly recommend him to anyone.
