Ignition Problems after a run out.
Discussion
Hi guys, had a good hour+ long run out in the 390. On ther return stretch of the journey the car started playing up with several flat spots apparent in the rev range. A mile or so from home the running got very poor and the car then cut out at the end of my street. Tried to restart with no luck.
I walked home and let the car cool down for an hour or so. Just started it and it seems to be back on form, but the 20amp fuse for the ignition coil has melted. The fuse itself has not blown, its just the casing of the fuse has melted. There is no signs of damage to the wires behind the fuse box unit.
Anyone got any ideas as to whats wrong?
Edited to add: As you may have seen from my previous Dyno Diaster thread, this car has some performance problems, previously it wouldn't produce any power above 4500rpm. I've improved this somewhat by removing the imobiliser, which seemed to be interfering with the ignition supply to the coil, and resetting the timing (tdc verified with piston stop) to 12 btdc @ 1k and 33 btdc all in.
