Makes no difference to what?

Your generally miserable outlook?

Come on Eric, explain the issues, we'll try to find a solution.

Eric, I'm invoicing you for repairs to my ironymeter that you've broken.

Where do I send it?

I'm amazed at the amount of people who don't use the What's New feature!
Its the only way I browse PH nowadays due to the amount of different forums, and if you use it it looks just like the P&P smile

kind of get what Eric is saying.

if you want to see all the fora from "Gassing Station" but permenantly have the "whats new" with my filters on it, you cannot.

Asking too much probably.

Mutually exclusive, non?

In the preferences you're listing the forums that you want to see the latest topics from on whatsnew.asp

You're saying, if I am understanding correctly, that you want to be able to see the latest topics from all forums but only the topics that relate to the things you're interested in. So you want all your topics from your favourite forums but you dont want to miss a plane topic (for instance) if its posted in the watch forum.

Which seems impossible, on the face of it.

WOE is 'teens against pornography' doing in the 'home, cinema and hifi forum'? Surely this should be in the 'taking the piss out of other forums forum'?

It does mean that people will have to spend some time deciding "Now, in which forum should I post this topic?" before opening a new topic. I can see the mods being excessively occupied shifting threads around to their "proper" homes and everyone else chasing around to find where they've gone.

Or, even more bizarrely, people will be looking for old threads where have reallocated them (take your pick from hundreds that sat happilly in the P&P for ages)?

Looking at some of the new topics opened in the shiny new Lounge, I can see quite a few that possibly should have been posted in one of the "specialist" forums.

I think the other half will agree with me when I say I have a Techie brain

But this P&P forum thing beats me.

Why the hell did they go and ruin it

It's not that it wasn't good enough sweetie, it's just that you didn't have any nice pretty pictures for the illiterate to follow in yours, and Mr Will has a corporate responsibility to ensure all minorities are catered to.

If you don't believe me, touch your screen. Your guide is lacking the embedded braille to be found in the official version.
