Hiya Guys,

It is my grandparents Diamond wedding anniversary on Friday and I have been tasked with cooking dinner for the family (6 of us).
We want to go all out, really luxurious and no expense spared.

Mum's ordered a whole fillet of beef, would like to have some shellfish too, maybe a lobster. So because of this something pretty light for starter.
Desert I was thinking about a lemon tart or a syllabub, light again. And of course a cheese board, so cheese suggestions needed too.

Any help would be greatly appreciated smile

What about Beef Wellington with the fillet? You could do a Lobster cocktail to start and cheeses, well, 3 or 4 to suit various tastes: Brie, Mature Cheddar, Blue (Stilton or Oxford Blue) and a Goat or Ewe Cheese. I'm sure the local Deli can recommend a good selection. Don't get me started on wines....Hope you have a great time and best of luck!

Epoisses for the strong cheese on your board.

If you want to go all out, why not some oysters as canapes pre dinner?
Personally love them, but can be a bit hit and miss for those that aren't seafood fans. What you could do it grill them with a little finely chopped pancetta, shallots and garlic. OK, I know they should be raw, but some may not like that..

Beef - definately Wellington. Serve with colcannon and roasted vegs.
