Are twlight races safe?

We always hear The Spank going on about safety and how he steam rollers some rules through on that basis. Well if this is the case, how does the FIA allow The Midget to get away with changing the starts of races solely for commercial reasons?
To be honest, I will watch the race no matter what time of day it is being shown here in the UK, so why should the longhaul races be any different.
We've already seen both races this year start later than ever before for the benefit of the european audience, though both still aired live here in the UK very early in the morning, so I can't see what justification The Midget has to move the times.
In doing so, he's put the lives of the drivers, marshalls and others at a higher risk due to these decisions. Most drivers said that Australia was dangerous due to the sun being low in the sky. We've all experience glare ourselves, but we are not driving at 200mph!
As with Malyasia, they've always had rain in late afternoon, so again The Midget is putting the lives of the drivers at risk with such well documented weather they have their.
So come on Midget, what true commercial sence is there in running later races? NOTHING, as I'm sure many sponsors were un-happy that their logos on the cars were not being seen for the full duration of the race.
Another example of how this Midget, along with The Spank are too old for this business now, they are losing the plot big time and it's time we had fresh blood injected into the system. Just look at McLaren to see what happens when you've had the same people integral to the business for so long - it's a recipe for disaster.

Someone is going to die if this continues. I live in KL and go to every race, but I agree if the European audience is important then more European races is the answer
Not so well publicized is that the crowd on Saturday was 80,000, down from last year's 1300. I suggest this is due to the local market being saturated, (People in Singapore will only got to the Sing race) and the fact that driving home on the motorway in the dark and the rain is dangerous.
The figures here are that you are at least 10 times more likely to die if you drive in the dark as opposed to day light. On my 25 mile drive home I saw one accident coming home from qualifying and another on Sunday on way home, both serious motorway speed accident, the 3oo plus km drive on the motorway back to Singapore must have been littered with accident. (I wouldn’t drive this in the dark and last time I did it in daylight and rain was 4 weeks ago and there were 7 accidents) Haven't seen a press report but I'd suggest that people did die on this weekend as a result of the rain and visibility, but it was members of the public and not yet a race driver.

when we get monsoon rain like that you are talking about 6 or 7 inches of rainfall in half an hour .... raining heavier than your power shower!!!SPA by comparison gets nothing more than some drizzle!!

That's an answer to a different question. Are you saying that you don't think having the race during the day in Europe will result in more viewers? Ecclestone seems like a pretty good businessman to me; I would have though he has investigated this and found that it will. Maybe you know otherwise though

and we have monsoons here too then?We don't really have anything to compare this with, with the exception of maybe the FA cup final, then have them all pour out onto the M25 during the worse downpour the UK have ever seen X 10
